The Construction Industry's Response to the Government Shutdown

By Dean B. Thomson, Esq. and Theodore V. Roberts, Esq.
June 22, 2011

This month's Briefing Paper provides the Memorandum that Dean Thomson and Ted Roberts of our firm filed on behalf of the Minnesota Chapter of the American General Contractors (MnAGC) seeking to intervene in the pending action in Ramsey County District Court regarding what programs should receive continued funding during the impending state government shutdown. The Memorandum makes the case that state construction contracts are "core government functions" that deserve continued funding. The Minnesota Chapters of the AIA, ASA, ACEC, Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association and MCA also subsequently joined MnAGC's motion. Should you have any questions regarding your rights during any state government shut down, feel free to contact either Dean or Ted at 612.359.7600 or thomson@fwhtlaw.com or troberts@fwhtlaw.com.
